My sustained investigation question was who are some of the best athletes on the planet. For my first athlete I decided to pick Calvin Johnson because he was a great person and an even better receiver.
I decided to use this picture that I found off the web.
From there, I created a layer mask and edited out the background.
For the background I decided to use pictures of Calvins great catches. I decided to use these four pictures above and I turned down the opacity on all of these pictures to make them more of a background and really signify the picture of Calvin in the middle. By doing this I helped the audience focus on Calvin in the middle, but created a visually appealing background that shows his athleticism.
Lastly, I placed in Calvins name in text. I decided to go vertically and staggered the text to make it look more professional. I always have collected baseball and football cards and wanted to make the text like how it is on these cards. By doing this I once again have the audience look at the picture of Calvin first. By putting the text on the outside the viewer will look at all the cooler pictures and backgrounds first and be more appealed. I really like how this project turns out and it is one of my favorites.
